Piku War Rages On: Deepika Leaves Hrithik Film, Bachchan Walks In

SpotboyE.com was the first to report that Deepika Padukone had consented to do Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya's next starring Hrithik Roshan (Keep fire extinguishers ready, Deepika to rub shoulders with Hrithik, June 2). We were also the first to tell you that Hrithik would play the male lead in the film (Hrithik in Dhoom 3 director's next? May 30). However, a recent development suggests that the actress is no longer associated with the project.
Interestingly, Deepika's exit coincides with Amitabh Bachchan's entry in the project.
A source close to the film reveals that Bachchan recently finished a look test for the film and has officially come on-board.
For those who've come in late, the actress hadn't invited the senior actor at her film's success bash, a snub that became the talk of town.
Adds the source, "They no longer want to work together and both are in a position where they can choose who to work with, who to avoid. As things stand now, a new heroine is likely to be launched opposite Hrithik."
While Deepika's publicists maintained that she hasn't even "heard" about this project, a spokesperson from YRF said they wouldn't like to "react to the story" until a formal announcement is made.
